Carnegie Science Center is partnering with Carnegie Mellon’s Computer Science faculty and students to engage middle school students with introductory, hands-on workshops. Students learn how to use CMU’s open-source software, Alice, to create an animated story of their own design. They also learn the programming basics of the Cozmo Robot®, and then put their newfound knowledge to work. Through their involvement, participants gain insights into educational and careers opportunities in the field and the many ways that computer science impacts every facet of modern life.
