NEW! Sensory-Sensitive 18+ Behind the Science Night
Thursday, June 22 6-9 pm
Join Science Center staff for a new event designed for adults 18 and up who are affected by sensory processing disorders, and their adult friends and family members. Enjoy four floors of exhibits, special shows, and demonstrations adapted with the needs of the sensory-sensitive in mind.
During the evening, enjoy the Omnimax film Born to be Wild, the show Stars Over Pittsburgh in the Buhl Planetarium, and liquid nitrogen smoothies. Special "touch tables" will be set up in the Miniature Railroad & Village®, to offer hands-on access to parts from the railroad that are normally off-limits to touch, and visitors can expect to meet some live animals from the H2Oh! exhibit.
All activities will have adaptations (such as lower volumes and soothing light levels) designed with the needs of the sensory-sensitive in mind.
All guests attending this event will enjoy a 10% discount at the XPLOR Store for the evening.
This program was created in partnership with Autism Connection of PA, Pittsburgh Center for Autistic Advocacy, and Evolve Coaching and is graciously supported by the Edith L. Trees Charitable Trust.
